connor | babies first year

OK, so I’ve been anxiously waiting to post this…I didn’t want to put it up here before they got mailed out, but people are receiving them…so here is the announcement I designed for Connor! They are actually 4X6 magnets…I LOVE that idea…perfect for showing off on the fridge!

On the magentized fridge note….if you are like me and have a stainless steel fridge, it’s not magnetized…I didn’t think of this when I upgraded from my old fridge to stailess steel, and and so I was left at a loss for places to post all my fun stuff…until I discovered magentized chalkboard paint (see this article http://casasugar.com/418112)! You can paint it anywhere…need a kitchen makeover, but on a budget? Use it to paint your cabinents, or update an old works-perfectly-fine-but-doesn’t-look-great fridge by painting it with this! You’ll have a great space for grocery lists or notes to family members! Love the idea, but don’t want to commit?? Go to your local walmart or Target, pickup a poster size frame with glass, take it home, take it apart, paint the glass, wait for it to dry, put it back together….then hang it on the wall! Voila!

Here’s an up-close look at the pictures featured in the announcement…

Lake George Car Show

ugh…I am way behind…on everything…including my blogging. I have so much to tell everyone, but I only have time today for one, so I’ll show you the outing my hubby and I went on last weekend to the annual Lake George Car Show…We’ve never gone before, but I thought it would be a good photo opportunity, and he loves cars…so we went, and here’s what we saw…

look closely…this one is a self portrait!

Well, technically, I have a few earlier shots of Connor’s first year….like my sister’s cute preggo belly and Connor while he was in the NICU…but last weekend Rob and I went to visit him for his first real photo shoot! He’s such a trooper! I designed his announcements and the invitation for his baptism, which are being mailed this week…so you won’t see any of those shots just yet…wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise…but here’s a few more of my favorites…

isaiah + christina | wedding

It was by far, the hottest…muggiest…most uncomfortable day of the summer….and yet it was still an amazing day! On Saturday, Christina and Isaiah tied the knot! This wedding felt a little different for me…maybe it’s because Christina’s older sister, Lisa, is my boss…She doesn’t like it when I call her that, she refers to herself as my ‘colleague‘, but she’s my boss…So I’ve experienced all the anticipation of their wedding planning over the past few months…More than once, I admit, I had to wipe away a tear or two…Christina and Isaiah are truly amazing people and the love they share is felt by all around them…but not just their love, you can’t help but feel the love this entire family has for one another…it’s intoxicating! Despite the heat, everyone had a good time, and Isaiah, possibly the most love-crazed groom I have ever seen (except for my hubby, of course) was seen fanning cool air under his new wife’s wedding gown more than once! These are a few of my favorite shots…it was so hard to pick that this post took me hours and I had to try out a new collage idea just to get extra shots in…I can’t wait to post the slide show later this week! Congratulations Isaiah and Christina!

(This sketch is a rendering of a photo I took of Christina and her father earlier this year…She had it done for him as a gift and he proudly displays it above his fireplace…I just love it!)

(A proud father…caught by emotion at the sight of his beautiful daughter in her gown on her wedding day!)

caroline + tim | wedding

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Caroline and Tim’s wedding…They had one of the nicest days of the summer for their outdoor event at Lanthier’s…They were surrounded by friends and family and everyone had a wonderful time! I hope everyone gets the opportunity to attend a wedding as fun and filled with love as this one!
