Matthew & Valerie – Raquette Lake Engagement

A few weekends ago I headed out to Raquette Lake for Mat and Val’s engagement session.  We had originally planned on meeting in Keene, where they are getting married this fall, but an Adirondack spring snowstorm forced us to change the location and the weekend.  Turns out, it was a beautiful day in Raquette Lake…

I love shooting in new locations – you just never know what you are going to get, but I am so psyched when it’s an image like this -

I totally wasn’t expecting a boat ride, but Matt was camping on an island for a few nights and he decided to take us out to one of his favorite spots.  I wasn’t prepared to be out on the water – I had on a short sleeve t-shirt and was carrying my camera’s instead of having them tucked away in a waterproof pack, so I hid them under my legs for most of the boat ride but got brave enough to take one out to catch this landscape shot…Love it – alot!  I hope Matt and Val do too….

Matt is an amazing landscape photographer, so I hope I’m not embarrassing myself here;-)  I think I should get bonus points since it was taken from a moving vessel.  Lots of bonus points!  Now on to Matt and Val -

I love, love, love the image on the left – it’s the “secret” spot Matt took us to…all the way up the lake to the mouth of the river!

A few in the woods…

And of course, one of Val’s gorgeous ring…This could be one of my all time favorite ring shots!

Back at the campsite we headed out onto this rocky outcrop for a few shots – it was well worth the harrowing trek (ok, ok, I exaggerate just a little, but the ground was unstable underfoot and I was carrying thousands of dollars in equipment – but anything for the perfect shot, right??)

Something about this next one intrigues me….  I’m not sure if it’s the lighting or the way all the different layers of trees and branches and leaves almost look like they are enveloping them…what ever it is, it rocks!

A few sweet moments…

And finally a few portraits.  Look at those green leaves in the background – I love what they do to these images.

I can’t wait for the wedding at the Mountain House in Keene later this year!

Ann Marie - Hey Matt – what was I thinking???? I’ll change that to Raquette Lake right away. Makes you wonder if I ever know where I am!

MATT SCIORTINO - We are working on our list and can’t wait to get out save the dates…

…just for accuracy for your blog, our engagement session was at Raquette Lake, not Long Lake.

Mark & Ayami – Hall Of Springs Wedding

Bride and Groom:  Ayami and Mark

Ceremony and Reception:  Hall of Springs

Flowers:  Experience and Creative Design

Hair and Makeup:  Make Me Fabulous

Bridal:  Something Blue

Videographer:  Black Paw Productions

DJ:  Music Man

Cake:  Debbie Coye

Honeymoon:  Hawaii

It seems like I just met Mark and Ayami, but in truth they booked me LONG before their wedding – so long that it may have broken a record somewhere.  Ayami and Mark planned every detail of this wedding and I knew it would be fabulous, but I didn’t know it would be THIS fabulous…

Almost all of my couple’s opt for a ‘first look’, and at first Ayami had decided against it, but she changed her mind just weeks before the wedding – and I’m so glad she did!  Her parents and wedding party braved the frigid air to watch this moment-  as she approached Mark her emotions got the best of her and she had to take a quick moment to gain her composure….

Let me just say that I am CRAZY about the flair in this next set of images – amazing!

The image on the left below is my new favorite shot!  I can’t say enough good things about it.

See the moon in the next one?!

Isn’t this image of Mark and Ayami’s father so happy!

And this one of Ayami and her mother…

The Hall was beautiful, and the Debbie Coye cake was simply amazing!

The dessert bar was TO DIE FOR…

Mr. and Mrs…

I have so many more images to post from this wedding, and a slideshow to share, but I am headed to the west coast for business and Hubby is joining me for a much needed vacation an an Ansel Adams photography workshop.  The studio will be closed for the first time in three years until we return on 4/25.  Hopefully I will get a chance to post the slideshow before I leave but if I can’t, please check back when I return!!  You won’t be disapponted!

Ann Marie - Hey Val! I have so many favorite’s that I’m almost lost! I can’t wait to show you more!

Ann Marie - Hi Debbie – I’ll send you the digital files, as well as some prints. I realized that I have images of another cake of yours – Will and Hyla, who were married in Keene Valley! I’ll send you those as well! Ann Marie

Ann Marie - Mark & Ayami ~ Aloha to you! I hope you are having an amazing time on your honeymoon and I can’t wait for you to return to see the rest of the images! This is just a small sample – I’ve already tagged 200+ as absolute favorite’s – I can’t wait to design your album. You are both wonderfully sweet and your words of thanks are much appreciated. I know very few people that would take the time to write page long thank you’s before leaving for their honeymoon. You are both amazing and I am so thankful that you chose me to capture your day. See you when you return!

Val Bassett - Anne- you really captured the moment in these. I especially like the first one. The pic of the cake and truffles is incredible. I can’t wait to see that wild dance floor!

Debbie Coye - Thanks so much for including me in your e-mail list. I loved your pictures, you are a beautiful couple…great job Ann. I definitely want to purchase a picture of the cake. Ann, if you can, will you e-mail me when you get back? Thanks, Debbie Coye

Mark & Ayami - Ann Marie ~ Aloha from Hawaii! Wow. These images are stunning. It certainly does feel like just yesterday when we first met you, but what a long way we have come. We couldn’t have found a better match in a photographer than we have found in you. Look at those pictures! You truly capture the essence of what makes us… us! The day flew by but you allow us to relive each moment and each emotion again and again. For that – we cannot thank you enough. Can’t wait to see the rest!!

John & Julie – Mini Golf Engagement

In September of this year my brother John is getting married to Julie, who has reminded all of us how fun minigolf is – so it was only natural that we headed off to Pirate’s Cove for their engagement session.  This location was much different than my usual engagement session settings – lakes, mountains, woods, and fields of grass – but it was fun to shoot somewhere new and try new things.  I think these images are perfect for them.

I like this next series of 4 – playful and sweet – and full of color!

I was praying that my brother did not let go…

I love the light and colors of this one…this is not an easy image to capture.  It was DARK in there…

There’s nothing like a little ‘sword fight’ on Blackbeard’s Course…

The new blog also comes with a new and improved slideshow feature – one of the best features of this slideshow (and reasons for upgrading to this new blog) is the full screen feature – which is especially handy for those looking at the blog on a computer with a smaller screen – like a netbook…anyway, here it is….

Ayami & Mark BASSETT - Ann Marie ~ Keep an eye out for a LONG e-mail ;) These pictures are AMAZING! Love the color and what a beautiful couple. And your new website is awesome too! You know we’ll be stalking your blog right?

Isabella

Isabella is almost as beautiful as her mother, and she is finally here!  What a perfect first post for the new blog.  Rob and I now have 5 amazing nieces and nephews.  We are truly blessed in every sense.  These shots were taken late last night, just a few hours after her arrival.  Her first newborn portrait session will be next week but I couldn’t miss capturing these moments, so we headed off to the hospital a few hours after Scott and Cynthia, not knowing how long we would have to wait.  We arrived at 10:50, and she was born at 10:55.  She is perfect.
